Successful 3-game day at Freudenau

In the local derby with home advantage, the students first met the Hurricanes as a pure Metrostars team without Beavers support. In the 1st inning, Tom managed a double and was able to bring Ibra home, then Tobi brought Tom home with a double. In the next inning, things went just as well, when Ibra sent Luis and Vaughn home with a double. In the 3rd inning, the students' game became increasingly unfocused and they gave away points, and the opponents scored 3 runs. In the 4th inning, the Hurricanes tried to prevent three runs with an intentional walk for Tobi, but to no avail - the students won the first game of the day comfortably with 10:6. The pitching against the Hurricanes went very well, Tom managed 7 strikeouts in 75 patches, and Vaughn then had 2 more strikeouts.

Then it was against the strong Ducks, against whom it had recently lost 2 times in the doubleheader in Wiener Neustadt. On its own field in sunny Freudenau, it was a different game, fortunately. It got off to a quick start with a triple from Simon T. and a double from Ibra, and the first inning brought a 4:4 with two equally strong teams. After the 2nd inning it was 5:5 (nice play from Ibra on Tom), after the 3rd it was 10:10 after doubles from Ibra and Tobi. A game on equal terms, with the Ducks hitting 2 home runs.

Pitcher Ibra was replaced by Tobi in the 4th inning, who then did not allow any more runs from the opposition in 2 no-hitter innings. The Metrostars worked their way to a 2-run lead (Simon L. and Nacho), and then there were 3 quick outs in the 5th inning. Final score 12:10 and Metrostars win.

The students formed a good team on May 1st, were able to hold their own despite occasional mistakes, delivered exciting matches with their opponents and left the field as winners both times.
