Metrostars students get caught in a small hurricane in Freudenau

At the doubleheader on early summer Sunday, May 5th. The students were beaten in two exciting games against the Hurricanes. The matches again took place without Beaver's participation, and two of the safest pitchers, Tobi and Tom, were also missing. In the first game, the Metrostars were able to keep up well, gaining a lot of experience and trying out new positions. In addition to good plays, there were also deficits in offense and defense, such as too few outs on the bases. Fielding and hitting didn't work as well as it did on Wednesday of the same week in the win against the same team.
Ibra executed his 75 pitches very routinely and confidently, then Vaughn took over with good throws and didn't let his game bother him. Ultimately the first game was lost 5:7.

There was also a lack of effective strikes in the second game and they relied too much on their own walks, which was suboptimal against the hard-hitting Hurricanes - very few of Vaughn, Simon T. and Simon L.'s own pitches led to strikeouts. Possible tag outs were not made, errors occurred, points were given away. Catcher Simon L. and Paul (he made his debut in the U12) let a few balls go through and the Hurricanes were able to bring their runners home. At the end of the second game, the Hurricanes were clearly ahead 17:8.

The two matches gave the coaches Walter and Celine important clues for the upcoming training sessions. With improved active hitting, fewer missed throws and better interaction in the battery, future encounters should be more successful. They have yet proven that the students can play well together with individual performances and good plays as well as as a team.

The BeaverStars syndicate and the Wanderers are currently in third place in the East Student League with 5 wins and 4 losses each.
