3-player match day for the students in Bratislava: Good team play and 2 losses

The first encounter between the BeaverStars and the Hoppers started promisingly. Despite the loss of key strong players, 9 students, including 2 Beavers and Paul from the U10, bravely faced the Traiskircheners. Pitcher Ibra and catcher Simon L. got along well with each other, and there were also nice hits from their own offense. Ibra was able to bring two of his teammates home safely in the 2nd inning and was also able to score 5:3 himself. In the 3rd inning, a few points were left behind passively, which demotivated the opponent and gave the Hoppers the way to a final score of 7:12.

By the second game against the host and clear favorite Apollo, the children had pulled themselves together again and showed how important good team play is. Under pitcher Sebastian and catcher Oskar, some nice plays were made with visibly better communication between the players, attentive implementation of the coaches' signs and the resulting mutual enjoyment of the game. From the 2nd inning onwards, Ibra once again cut a good figure as a catcher against the Apollos, who were strong on offense, and Simon L. managed to get a few outs for the Apollos with strong pitches. Nevertheless, they always had the upper hand and won clearly 13:4 in the end.

Overall, two more good training games for the Austrian Championships, many game situations and new positions could be practiced in preparation. It was also important not to give up against the Apollos, who were foreseeably stronger, but to keep trying to catch up and play well. Keep at it - try every swing again, every game gets better.

Team: Sebastian, Oskar, Luis, Ibra, Mira, Nils, Simon L, Simon J., Paul
Coaches: Walter, Selin
